I bought this mural for my son, who wanted a "safari" themed room with lots of animals. I wanted something that would grow with him, and most decor in that theme I found was for very young children. (he is almost 6.) This caught my attention, and my son fell in love with the picture.
I was worried about how it would look in a small bedroom, but it is incredible. It adds so much depth and interest. And it can complement so many colors of blues, greens, light browns. My son's room was light blue, and it really makes the sky in the mural stand out. The animals have so much character and detail. I see something new each time we look at it.
I was intimidated by the idea of putting this up by myself, but was pleasantly surprised. The instructions included are sufficient. It comes as 8 panels, and each one is labeled 1-8. The instructions tell you what order to put the panels up.
Another review had said they had run out of paste included with the mural. So when I applied the paste to the first panel, I used it sparingly. It didn't stick to the wall very well, and I was disappointed. For the second panel, I put a heavy coat of paste, and it went up really well. So I took the first panel back down and reapplied a heavier layer of paste. When I put it back up, it stayed in place nicely. I had no problem with the amount of paste...in fact I only made up half the mixture, and had some left over.
The mural went up much easier than I had expected. With the darker, busy scene, no one even can see where the seams are. I would suggest to have some masking tape handy to help tack down the edges at the top of the wall until it dries, as ours tended to try to curl back down a little at first. Do not trim the edges if they are at all wet, as the paper will tear easily. (I have a couple jagged spots along the ceiling.)
But all in all, I am exceedingly pleased, and would recommend this to anyone!
